Now Expecting

Bella, at six weeks old.
At Jolly Roger we give great consideration to every breeding long before it takes place. We fully expect each foal to be a performer, companion, and friend for a quarter of a century or more, so there is no such thing as 'hurry' when it comes to planning a future like that. There are too many unwanted foals because of careless breeding and greed. Each foal at Jolly Roger is a cherished arrival, and definitely worth waiting for! If you are interested in seeing our future plans, take a look and find out who is expecting to whom.
Due to the economy, our stallions did not stand to outside mares in 2009. Please contact us about the possibility of breeding to your mare in 2010 or beyond.
Khant BuyMe Love ("Indie") is a feminine mare with floaty movement that is every breeder’s dream. She has a dry, dished head, a narrow throat latch, and a topline that won’t quit. She never takes a wrong step, and is textbook correct from every direction. For 2010, Indie has been breed to our own handsome Apacheblue Radyance ("Rio"). His trot is elastic and ground-covering, and he has a motor you wouldn’t believe. He drives like a warmblood and naturally collects his elegantly arched neck. Because we believe Rio carries the splash, sabino, silver bay, and rabicano genes, and Indie carries the sabino gene, we’re expecting an *extremely* colorful foal, that can be cross registered as a pinto. Even if this foal doesn’t have a single white hair s/he is going to be friendly, intelligent and capable of succeeding both in-hand and under saddle. Contact us if you are interested in reserving first looks on the foal! People on Indie’s waiting list get first notification and first right of refusal if her foal is offered for sale.
