Jolly Roger Sport Horses
Put a Pirate in your pasture!
The folks behind Jolly Roger remember a time when horse shows were fun. Do you remember the days when big crowds attended, there were things for kids to do, and the 'little guy' (or gal), could still win against The Powers That Be? Do you remember when the person you bought your horse from cheered you on whether you just backed him for the first time, won a third place ribbon in a 4-H show, completed a 50 mile ride, moved up to the next level dressage test, welcomed a foal safely into the world, or won a national championship? We do, and we want to bring fun and a little bit of high seas adventure back into horses.
Remember to get the facts and do your ground work first before you purchase a horse. Don't fall in love with a horse and then try and make it work for your experience level, expectations and needs. Ask us anything about one of our pirate lads or lasses that you'd like to know. We want to hear from you. We like to match Captains (you) and First Mates (your horse), because three decades is a long voyage, and we want only the smoothest sailing!
We have a vision statement that reflects our position in the equine universe in business language. We think it says a lot of important things, but we also believe that owning a horse should be a partnership, no matter if you plan to compete in Grand Prix dressage, be site champion at the next inspection, or ride around your home with daisies braided in your horse's mane. Sport Horses at Jolly Roger are meant to be athletically able to take you to the highest level of performance you want to achieve. Then they're meant to be good friends for hacking around, or raising up a new generation of corsairs.
Jolly Roger Sport Horses is a skullduggery-free zone. Our horses are honestly represented without any retouching of conformation of photos on our website or in ads. You can't retouch bad genetics, so we won't include that sort of horse in our program. While we enjoy sending photos and DVDs to prospective pirate captains, we strongly encourage you to see the pirate lad or lass in person, and have a pre-purchase vet checks done.
