Put a Pirate in your pasture!
Apacheblu Flambeaux - "Amber"
(Wynter Sann X Pyralis)
2006 Arabian Mare - 14.2 Hands
Bred by: ApacheBlu Ranch, Oregon
Chestnut Arabian filly with a white blaze, four high jagged white stockings all around, lacing, and white underneath her belly. She is definitely a sabino, and has enough belly white to be double registered as a pinto.
After a rough start, a happy turn of the stars brought Amber our way. A lovely, leggy filly that shouldnít even have been available, we must thank Shannon of Apacheblu for making the impossible possible. Amber is elegant, naturally collected, feminine, graceful and so very correct. From the pink tip of her nose to the flaxen tip of her tail, she is everything an Arabian breeder strives for--form and function and a bit of pirate swashbuckle all rolled into one lovely chestnut sabino package.
Amberís sire, Wynter Sann or "Sunny," is a handsome chestnut roan moderate sabino horse of great character. With stockings past his knees and hocks, and white under the jaw and to the throat, pinto markings on the neck and belly, heís one flashy horse. Heís 100% CMK, offering motion, kindness, and halter-horse elegance with correct movement.
Sunnyís pedigree is laden with winner after winner in performance and halter. His sire, Merlann, was US National Top Ten in Informal Combination, and the Region I champion. Merlann is out of Galan++, a US and Canadian Top Ten stallion, and US and Canadian 3-gaited champion at age 4! Like his son, Abu Farwa won championships in both halter and 3-gaited. Merlannís grandsire on his damís side was an English Pleasure Champion, who also won blues in Western Pleasure.
Sunnyís damís is sired by Abu Malacar, a successful race horse and endurance sire, who in turn was out of Muhuli, the Oregon State Park Horse Champion. Muhuli also goes back to Abu Farwa. On Spring Wyndís damís side, the winners just continue. Her damís sire, Wynterfyre, was a Champion in English Pleasure, Park, Native Costume and Halter. Muhuli appears again, and it is rounded out by Rabiycar, a National Top Ten Park Horse.
Amberís dam Pyralis, is a chestnut Polish mare who is simply stunning. That head! That movement! That forelock! She is so very correct--elegant, feminine, yet built to go the distance. Her sire, New Market+//, is by Reign On, both great winners. He in turn was sired by Bask++. Polish greats Eter, Trypolis and Pietuszok round things out.
On her damís side, Pyralisís dam is a daughter out of Barbary+++, by Bay El Bey++ out of a Bask++ daughter. On her mare tail line, Rochambeau++ is her grandsire, by Bask++ and out of a Mujahid++ daughter. Yup, these lines be filled with pretty and performers.
Because of some excitement early on in life, Amber is going to grow up nice and slow here at Jolly Roger. She might show in-hand at a show or two if she demonstrates any interest; otherwise, sheíll just work on learning her lessons. Her first foal planned for 2012 may already spoken for, but inquiries are welcome about future foals.
